Dr. S S Dash visits Green Ahalia
Green Ahalia welcomed Dr. Shudhanshu Shekar Dash, Additional Director and Technical In-charge, Botanical Survey of India (BSI), Kolkata, on 10th August 2026 as part of the review of our ongoing ABG (Assistance to Botanical Gardens) project.
Mr. Sabik, who is the PI of the project presented an update on the past six-month’s progress of the ABG project implemented by Green Ahalia . This was followed by a detailed discussion where Dr. Dash interacted with the Green Ahalia team and provided critical observations and guidance regarding the ongoing activities. He offered help from his students for ENM studies for prioritised species. The visit was fruitful and constructive, providing insights into for the final report to be submitted to the funding agency.
Dr. Dash has also made physical monitoring of the works carried out under the project especially he infrastructure, Nursery and conservation efforts. He was shown all our field activities in Anayappan Challa, Chayathara and Main campus. The prominent achievements with respect to Zingiber sabuanum, Casearia, Cycas annaikalensis, Sarcostemma acidum, Utleria salicifolia, Elaeocarpus gadgilii, and Syzygium palghatense, which are being maintained in the shade houses.
We took advantage of his visit to get our new theme garden Prof. P. R. Gajurel Piperales garden.
