Green Ahalia had the privilege of welcoming Dr. L. R. Bhuyan, Former Scientist, State Forest Research Institute (SFRI), Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on 13 August 2026. During his visit, he generously presented seedlings and seeds of botanically significant species from Northeast India, further enriching Green Ahalia’s living collection. The contribution included seedlings of Dipterocarpus retusus (D. macrocarpus), the State Tree of the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, and Shorea robusta, the State Tree of Jharkhand, along with seeds of Terminalia myriocarpa (Hollock) and Baccaurea ramiflora (Leteku) a wild edible fruit. The addition of these species will support ex situ conservation, germplasm preservation, and the expansion of Green Ahalia’s botanical diversity. Green Ahalia gratefully acknowledges Dr. Bhuyan’s valuable contribution and support towards strengthening plant conservation initiatives.
