GREEN AHALIA ATTENDED THE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON THE ENIGMATIC PALAKKAD GAP

Our team participated in the two-day International Seminar on the ecological and cultural significance of the Palakkad Gap held at Government College Chittur. The event began with a wonderful exhibition focusing on the biodiversity and the cultural heritage of the Palakkad gap region. On day one, the inaugural session was addressed by Sri. K. Krishnankutty, Honourable Minister for Electricity, Kerala and MLA Mr. Prabhakaran, followed by the talks from eminent experts focusing on the Ayurvedic potential of the Palakkad gap followed by the afternoon session focusing on the Soil characteristics of the Palakkad gap.

The day two focused on the Floral Diversity of the Palakkad Gap highlighting the endemic species such as Syzygium, Elaeocarpus, etc, conservation challenges, vegetation patterns, etc the area in which Green Ahalia is working on with. The afternoon session explored Agro-biodiversity and participatory research, stressing on the farmer involvement in sustainable development. The seminar provided valuable opportunities for academic exchange, networking with leading scientists, and exploring collaborative research initiatives.
