Chairman, Research foundation, Goa at Green Ahalia
Prof. M. K. Janarthanam, Chairperson, Goa State Research Foundation and Former Senior Professor, Goa University visited the Ahalia campus on 11th April 2026. He was accompanied by Dr. W. Arisdasan, Botanical Survey of India, Coimbatore. During the visit, they explored the medicinal plant cultivation plots at Anaipanchalla and the model cultivation plantations at Chayathara. He was also taken around the campus to show Green Ahalia thematic gardens and cultivation model plots like Phytovoltaic and Sandal based agroforestry. We also got a new garden theme “Aalthara” inaugurated at Chayathara by planting a Ficus religiosa sapling. He also visited the propagation chamber and the newly installed weather station. The visit concluded with the planting of a sapling of Calophyllum inophyllum in his name at Smrithi Vatika. Green Ahalia team had a great interaction with Prof. Janarthanam and Dr. Arisdasan on Biodiversity, Botanic garden and conservation research.
