Reconnecting for Research: Green Ahalia and IFGTB
Green Ahalia had been engaged in research collaboration with IFGTB (ICFRE), Coimbatore for establishment of germplasm banks of important timber species successfully. Currently IFGTB has contacted us for establishment of germplasm assemblage of multipurpose tree species. Thus Dr. A. Shanthi, Scientist-E & Head, Plant Biotechnology and Cytogenetics, of that institute visited Green Ahalia on 1st October 2026 and had detailed discussion on the proposed project. The discussion also included discussions on signing a MoU between IFGTB and Green Ahalia to facilitate future joint research and academic initiatives in plant conservation and biotechnology. Dr. Shanthi further inspected our Chayathara conservation plot for site suitability for the proposed work. If materialised as planned this will take forward the research establishments to national level.
