OISCA along with Green Ahalia conducts biodiversity orientation to students

On 11th March 2023 a field orientation programme on biodiversity relating to sustainable living was conducted at Ahalia coordinated by OISCA in collaboration with Green Ahalia for high school students. Around 30 students and 6 teachers took part in the programme. Dr. Haridasan gave a brief introduction to biodiversity and green Ahalia gardens. They were shown the Sandal based agroforestry model, Ahalia medicine manufacturing unit, RET garden, Zingiber garden, Spiritual garden, Mist chamber, Ottyan garden, Nutrition garden, Azadi ka Amruth Mahotsav Oushadhi garden, Butterfly garden, Fern house, Orchid house, Cactus house and other adjoining gardens in Star forest. The team was also taken to Dye yielding plants and Bambusetum. Shaibu, Sabik and Amrutha conducted the visit. The students and teachers were highly impressed by the activities and had a great learning experience. The visitors were also taken to alternate energy activities like solar power plant, Wind mills, Water conservation lakes and the museum at heritage village.
