Consolidating Green Ahalia – KFRI MoU

On 7 May 2026, the Green Ahalia team Dr. Haridasan, Shaibu, and Sabik visited Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) as a follow up of our MoU with them. We had in-depth detailed discussions on our activities and collaborations with KFRI. During the visit, the team interacted with Dr. Kannan C. S. Warrier director KFRI along with Dr. Sujanapal and Dr. U. M. Chandrashekara. To bolster our collaboration the team handed over successfully propagated specimens of Euryale ferox raised by Green Ahalia as part of our conservation and networking initiatives.

The team also had detailed discussion with Dr. Sreekumar HOD Botany division and identified mutually beneficial areas of research and development relating to garden and bamboo research. In the visit, the team could collect Nypa fruticans, Corypha umbraculifera and other RET plants for introduction at our theme gardens. Two Soil samples from endemic plant localities in Nilliyampathy were given to KFRI Soil lab for analysis. Later, the team visited Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) for seedlings and extension demonstration.
