BSI Scientists appreciates Green Ahalia

On 11th December 2023, a team of Senior Scientist from the Southern Regional circle of Botanical Survey of India visited Ahalia campus in connection with a Government of India Assignment. We took the chance to get our Ex situ conservation initiative inaugurated by them by planting RET saplings here. We have established conservation plots for 5 species of threatened plants in this site. The team has also visited all our thematic sections of the garden. Dr. M U Sharief, Senior Scientist who is the head of the organisation was the team leader. The other members are Dr. Sujana and Dr. Ravichandran. On our request he gracefully planted a sapling of Oroxylm indicum in our Smrithi Vatika. They appreciated the efforts of Green Ahalia and lauded the recent activities on conservation. They have also promised to get us any RET plants like Bentinckia kondapanna and other threatened plant species. They also offered to workout Ahalia campus flora with their expertise, if we desire so.
