Unlocking Plant Diversity – Workshop on Plant Taxonomy & Herbarium Preparation

Workshop on Plant Taxonomy and Herbarium preparation Green Ahalia team members Mr. Midhun and Ms. Anagha participated in a three days workshop on Plant Taxonomy and Herbarium Techniques held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (JNTBGRI), Thiruvananthapuram. The workshop was organized as part of the J. S. Gamble Centenary Commemoration. Ten eminent speakers handled the sessions, covering various aspects including plant taxonomy, including identification, classification, and herbarium preparation techniques. A field trip to the Ponmudi hills was conducted on the second day providing hands on experience in plant collection and field documentation methods. Overall the programme was well conceived and organised to achieve the goal set for the event.
