Ahalia alternate energy has joined hands with Green Ahalia for a new venture. In this project, considering the large area available under the photovoltaic panels having partially shaded area with adequate moisture in soil we planned to cultivate shade loving plants economically important medicinal and other bioresources that are not being tried earlier. Under each solar panels We established single lines of plants largely of annual nature.
Till now 8 species are tried under the panels in single rows which include Capsicum frutescens (Kanthari), Hemigraphis colorata, Aloe vera, Coleus amboinicus, Maranta arundinacea, , Withania somnifera, Zingiber officinale, Curcuma longa and are doing well. and we could harvest and conduct productivity studies in 3 species (1. Capsicum frutescens 2. Maranta arundinacea, and 3.Coleus amboinicus) as they are having produce suitable for market.
