One more theme to thematic gardens at ahalia campus

Green Ahalia creates history by adding one more theme to the thematic gardens at Ahalia campus. A new theme Ottayan: single drug plants which are known for their curative and preventing properties. This new theme has 44 Species which include herbaceous and arboreal plants. A visit to the garden will reveal that many of these plants are familiar to us and growing in our vicinity. Quite few of them are traded and one can see the products in OTC counters of Himalaya drugs store or similar other popular ayurvedic stores. Dr. R. R Rao INSA Fellow who visited the campus on 6th September inaugurated this garden by planting an Ashoka tree sapling. This theme is located near the recently established Nutrition Garden. It is expected to create awareness and act as germplasm bank for such medicinal plants. With this the total theme gardens have totaled to 35 themes.
