Green Ahalia spots the 2nd known location of Syzygium palghatensis

It’s a proud moment for team Green Ahalia when we reached the top of Pandara Vara in Parambikulam on 9th January and located the critically endangered tree Syzygium palghatensis. The plants were in bloom densely foliaged. As usual this too was in a slope at an elevation of 1200mtr. The other location we found it was in Nelliyampathy though that was more accessible. The success is entirely due to Dr. Sujanapal of KFRI and we appreciate his help. The permission from the forest department and help from the CCF Vijayanandan IFS and DD, PTR, Sri Nitish Kumar IFS is also thankfully acknowledged here.
