Green Ahalia Celebrates Haritholsavam – 2025

Green Ahalia celebrated Haritholsavam – 2025 on 10th June 2025 with a meticulously planned programme. The function began with the inauguration of the ‘Syllabus garden’ at Ahalia Public School (APS) that was designed and established Jointly by Green Ahalia and APS. Prof. (Dr.) Santhosh Nampi, Senior Professor, University of Calicut inaugurated the garden with participation from Green Ahalia team, Principal, Academic Director, staff and students of APS.

An exhibition of RET plants that show cased the threatened plants, diverse plant resources, plants for economic upliftment are exhibited. A very captivating Wildlife Photography exhibition Dr. Meena P Kumar (Mercy College) basing on her experience in Protected areas across India was exhibited outside the auditorium where the venue of the programme. Both the exhibitions were inaugurated by the chief Guest and Dr. Shyam Viswanath (Former Director, KFRI) respectively.

Mr. Reji Joseph (Organic Farmer, Jaivorg) received this year’s Green Ahalia “Green Warrior” Award for his contributions to food security by promoting food forests. An invited lecture on “Basics of Plant Taxonomy, its collection and identification” by Prof. (Dr.) Santhosh Nampi was conducted that was useful to the participants.
The Green Ahalia Annual report, 2024 – 25 along with Information Bulletin 3– Jala Nidhi (Garden for aquatic plants) was released in this event. The Green Ahalia official video was also released as part of the programme. Haritholsavam 2025 became the part of NET ZERO logo release. The onstage performance by APS students spreading awareness about Plastic pollution is the highlight of this year’s programme.The event was attended by several dignitaries, Ahalia education institution heads, staff, students and invited guests.
