The return gift for KFRI

We travelled to KFRI with a box of seedlings on 21st August 2026. Green Ahalia has been the recipient of several seedlings for our thematic garden in the past. With support of MoEF &CC GOI, ABG project we could raise Critically endangered species Cycas annaikalensis which is reported only from Palakkad district. As envisaged, in the ABG project we carried seedlings of this species and two other species covered under ABG project viz. Ipomea mouritiana, Ipomea mouritiana and another rare endemic palm of Livistona jenkinsiana from NE India. This is our return gift to the reputed R&D institute, KFRI. We also participated in the planting programme organised by Dr. V B Sreekumar Senior Principal Scientist there. The visit was also utilised to consult herbarium for ABG prioritised species for confirming our earlier records. The highlight of the visit is getting 4 seedlings of Hopea ponga for Green Ahalia garden.
