Awareness Programme Inspires Students -Young Biodiversity Champions in Action

As part of the Campus Biodiversity Register (CBR) initiative and to foster greater awareness of biodiversity conservation among students, Ahalia Public School organized an awareness programme in association with Green Ahalia. The session was led by Dr. K. Haridasan, Bioresource Consultant, Green Ahalia, who delivered an engaging presentation on the preparation and significance of the Campus Biodiversity Register. The interactive programme provided students with valuable insights into the importance of documenting and conserving the diverse biological resources present within their campus.
A key highlight of the event was the formal handover of the Campus Biodiversity Register project proposal by the Principal of Ahalia Public School to Mr. Vignesh, District Coordinator, Kerala State Biodiversity Board (KSBB). This milestone marks the commencement of a systematic effort to document the campus biological wealth in accordance with KSBB guidelines and underscores the institution’s commitment to biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability. The programme received an enthusiastic response, with students actively participating in discussions and raising insightful questions.
