Green Ahalia – BSI connect

Green Ahalia team visited the Botanical Survey of India, Coimbatore on 21 ST April 2026. Called on and interacted with Dr. S.S. Hameed, Scientist-F & Head of Office, Botanical Survey of India (BSI), Coimbatore. During the visit, the team got support from BSI to get a not so common plant identified from the medicinal plant cultivation plot. Dr. Arisdasan Scientist at BSI was also there during the interaction. The team further met and interacted with Dr. Sujana, a well-known taxonomist who specializes in the flora of the Western Ghats. Later on the team visited the BSI library to explore newly arrivals and to purchase the books relevant for the Green Ahalia library. The team took chance to visit Bharathiar University to attend the Ph. D Viva Voce of Ms. Chaithra, who had joined Green Ahalia very recently. She successfully defended her thesis in the event. We congratulate her in this academic achievement.
