Green Ahalia clears ABG project evaluation

MoEF & CC deputed Dr. Sujana Scientist at BSI Coimbatore for evaluating the Assistance to Botanic Garden (ABG) project awarded to Mr. Sabik, Green Ahalia. Accordingly she and her colleague Mr. Pranav visited the centre on 23rd January 2026. She was escorted to our project component locations in the campus. Starting with Chayathara where she could see the conservation plot of Holostemma ada-kodien (Cynanchum annularium), Decalepis hamiltonii and the newly created plot of Baccaurea courtallensis. We got this inaugurated by Dr. Sujana. She also made observations in our ginger house where Zingiber sabuanum was housed. Other ABG plants she could see are Casearia seethalakshmiae, Cycas annaikalensis, Sarcostemma annulare, Utleria salicifolia, Syzygium palghatensis etc. stocked in our shade houses. She also visited the completed working shed cum information centre which was a target under the project. Further she was taken to mist chamber and shown to her the propagation trials. After the field visit, a meeting was held with the PI and other investigators. We shared all required documents sought by her. Apparently, the BSI Scientist and her colleague left Green Ahalia.
