A milestone in our journey – Information Centre cum Working Shed

Green Ahalia organised an event on 09 December 2025 in connection with the inauguration of the working shed constructed with partial support from MoEF & CC through BSI under their Assistance to Botanic Gardens programme. The Green Ahalia invited Shri K. Vijayananthan, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Eastern Circle and Custodian of Vested Forests, Palakkad to be the chief guest for the event. The function was presided over by Dr. K. Haridasan, and Dr. Sheba Sunil Principal, Ahalia Ayurveda College, felicitated the occasion. Following the inauguration, Shri K. Vijayananthan delivered an interactive lecture on Challenges in forest management in Palakkad, where he engaged actively with over thirty students from school and colleges in the campus and discussed forest conservation, biodiversity and pressures on Forest management.
After the scientific session, the Chief Guest, along with Shri Aneesh, ACF, visited the conservatories, cultivation models, and various thematic gardens at Green Ahalia. He also planted a sapling of Baccaurea courtalensis at Smrithivatika commemorating his visit. During the subsequent discussion, Shri Vijayananthan appreciated the efforts of Green Ahalia in biodiversity conservation and assured full support from the Forest Department for future initiatives.
