Destination Green Ahalia – A favoured destination for educational institutions

Last two days we had visits from two educational institutions Chinmaya Vidyalaya Pallavur and S N College, Alathur with over 75 students and 5 faculties.
The objective of the visit was to expose the students to the rich flora and bioresources and provide students with hands-on exposure to sustainable practices, eco-friendly initiatives implemented in the Ahalia Campus. The visits began with an introduction to the vision and key activities of Green Ahalia in the areas of biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and unique environmental initiatives implemented in the campus. They visited the propagation chamber to learn intricate knowledge about vegetative propagation. They also visited other thematic gardens, the cultivation models, Ahalia Medicine Manufacturing Unit (AMMU) and Solar and Wind power generation units. Unique plants like Victoria amazonica being grown in our garden, endemic plants of Palakkad, state plants and flowers of states in the country have all enriched them with great fund of knowledge and information about plant world.
