On an Oldenlandia trail

Two of us (Midhun and Anagha) embarked on a journey to locate an endemic species that is reported from Palakkad district which is critically endangered. Midway Dr. Haridasan also joined the team a thorough survey was conducted at the type locality. Our efforts yielded positive result by finding a very small population of Oldenlandia dineshii. As a bonus we had Drosera indica, Striga angustifolia, Utricularia graminifolia, Rotala malampuzhensis, Parasopubia delphinifolia, Rhamphicarpa fistulosa and so on. Murdannia semiteres, Sesamum prostratum etc were also observed in Vamala site near Pallavur. Thus, we could get seedlings for the garden and specimens for herbarium. Green Ahalia is taking care of their conservation.
