56 students and 6 teachers from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Pallavur visited Green Ahalia
We are gaining popularity as a destination for learning. A group of 56 students and 6 teachers from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Pallavur visited Ahalia campus as part of their subject enrichment program. Green Ahalia team received them and conducted the biodiversity education tour. They were introduced to the technology demonstration of Sandal based agroforestry. AMMU team provided an exposure to the Ahalia Medicine Manufacturing Unit and its process. Further, in the garden, the visitors had a first-hand experience of Mist chamber propagation, the diverse scope of medicinal plants through thematic gardens – Ottyan garden, Nutrition garden, Azadi ka Amruth Mahotsav Oushadhi garden, etc. The other attractions to students were special and focussed themes like butterfly garden, Fern house, Orchid house, Cactus house and other adjoining gardens highlighting medicinal formulations, aquatic collections and gymnosperms in star forest. The team was further taken to the unique dye yielding plants and bambusetum. The visitors also had and exposure to alternate energy and water conservation. Finally they had a peep into the Heritage village and Sculpture park. The students and teachers were highly impressed by the activities and had a great learning experience.
